BIOGRAPHY
Erica is an Associate at Perry & Villarreal, LLP. She grew up overseas in a military family, her father having joined the U.S. Navy through its Philippines Enlistment Program. Her family was later stationed in San Diego just in time for Erica to start high school. There, Erica enrolled in a California public school for the first time.
Erica attended U.C. San Diego for her undergraduate studies, where she was accepted into the Summer Bridge program. Summer Bridge supported Erica and other underrepresented students as they transitioned into the university. The Summer Bridge program provided Erica with first-hand experience into the complex relationship between a school and its students. Erica earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from U.C. San Diego and went on to attend U.C. Irvine School of Law. While attending law school, she participated in various pro bono projects and clinics, including research and data review for the Children’s Law Center, representing survivors of domestic violence with the law school’s Domestic Violence Clinic, and analysis for Disability Rights California. Erica also served as a board member of OutLaw at UCI Law and as the law school’s representative within the Orange County Lavender Bar Association.
Erica’s background in navigating the education system as a student and immigrant, as well as her advocacy for marginalized peoples, inform her practice of law. She is passionate about fostering trust and communication within the attorney-client relationship. Erica seeks to achieve a client’s goals through fair resolution and creative lawyering.
In her spare time, Erica enjoys hiking and surrounding herself with nature. When indoors, Erica is brewing teas and coffees and baking bread.
